Senior Center News – Talk set to help with diversity (May 27, 2015 issue)

The senior center would like to invite you to attend a diversity presentation on Thursday, May 28, at 10 a.m., by Deborah Yeomans, Legal Aid Services of East Tennessee. This presentation will provide awareness, knowledge and skills to assist you in managing the various differences between people in our community.
We are also pleased to announce that we will have music and concessions at the senior center on Friday, June 12, beginning at 5 p.m. The cost to attend will be $5 per person. All proceeds raised will support the center’s operating expenses so please plan to attend and enjoy the entertainment.
Be advised that the senior center is always looking for new members and volunteers. Membership allows you access to our billiards room, fitness room and the computer lab with internet access and printing capabilities for only $20 per year. Where could you receive so much for so little?
Volunteer opportunities include being trained for the AARP Tax Aide Program so that we may serve older adults in Unicoi County at the senior center instead of having to refer our citizens to Johnson City or Jonesborough locations.
If you are interested, please contact us for further details at 743-5111 or drop by the center at 220 Union Street, Erwin.
