On Thursday, July 9, we invite you to join us at 9 a.m. for a “SNAP Benefits & Food Pantry Resources” presentation by Patricia McCormick, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee, and Rachel Bradshaw, Unicoi County Cooperative Extension agent. They will share the qualifications to receive SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) as well as highlight the food pantries within the county. At the conclusion of their presentation, Patricia will be happy to sign up anyone who is interested in SNAP benefits.
We also hope that you will join us as we travel to the Unicoi Farmers’ Market on Friday, July 10, at 9 a.m. We look forward to all of the fresh vegetables and fruits that will be available. This also gives the seniors an opportunity to support the local farmers.
Join Renee Lowery, Caris Healthcare, on Tuesday, July 14, at 9 a.m. as she will discuss the “Signs of Stroke and Heart Failure.”
