Senior Center News – Smart phone, tablet tutorials offered (June 24, 2015 issue)

The senior center is pleased to announce that we are now offering tutorials for smart phones (android and iPhones) and we also continue to offer tutorials for tablet users. If you are interested in making an appointment for a free one-on-one session, please contact the senior center.
On Thursday, June 25, we invite you to join us for a “Falls Prevention” presentation by Chad Capps, with Erwin Physical Therapy, to share tips on what you can do to avoid falls in your environment as well as discuss how you can improve your balance for a healthier and stronger you.
We also hope that you will join us as we travel to the Unicoi Farmers’ Market on Friday, June 26, at 9 a.m. We look forward to all of the fresh vegetables and fruits that will be available. This also gives the seniors an opportunity to support the local farmers.
“Nutrition on a Budget” will be presented by Sarah Faulk, Legacy Home Care, on Tuesday, June 30, at 9:30 a.m. She will share information on how you can eat healthy even on a limited income.
Also, don’t forget that we are gearing up for a 4 day/3 night trip to Lancaster, Pa. The cost is only $379 per person, which includes a charter bus, lodging, a show at the Sight and Sound Millennium Theatre, a guided tour of Lancaster including the Amish Country, and more.
