Senior Center News – Rummage, bake sale planned (Aug. 12, 2015 issue)

The senior center would like to invite the community to stop by and shop at the rummage and bake sale, which begins Thursday, Aug. 13. The rummage and bake sale will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Note that we will also be open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in the center’s dining room for air conditioned shopping. Please note that if items remain on Monday, Aug. 17, special pricing will be available.
In addition to dropping in for our fundraiser, we welcome you to participate in the other numerous activities available: art classes at 1 p.m. on Mondays; chair exercises 10:45 a.m. and light aerobics at 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays; quilting each Friday at 9:30 a.m.; Tai Chi is also available each Friday at 11 a.m. and much more. Additional activities include day trips, chartered trips as well as educational programs.
Through a partnership with the Unicoi County Cooperative Extension Office, a green bean canning demonstration will be conducted with Rachel Bradshaw, cooperative extension agent, on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 9 a.m. f you are interested in participating in the green bean demonstration and taking a quart home to enjoy once the process has been completed, please contact the senior center to pre-register.
