Senior Center News – ETSU pharmacy students offer tips (Jan. 21, 2015 issue)

Join us as we welcome Dr. Robin Henry and the ETSU College of Pharmacy students, as they will conduct two presentations this week. On Thursday, Jan. 22, they will share “What to Talk to Your MD About on Each Visit” beginning at 10 a.m. Then, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, they will conduct a presentation on starting or maintaining a “Gluten Free Diet”, which will begin at 9:30 a.m.
In addition to the various learning opportunities, we are still offering free classes for chair exercises, light aerobics and Tai Chi through the end of January. In addition to exercise, we would also welcome you to participate in the multitude of other activities we offer on a regular basis, such as crafts, quilting, knitting, sing-a-longs, devotions, Wii Play and much more.
Please contact the center to inquire about all that we have to offer, as we would love to have additional members. Note that membership is only $20 per year for those 50 and older. Membership includes the use of our fitness room and the computer lab, which offers internet access.
We would like to remind you that the senior center still has English and black walnuts for sale, so please consider us with your next purchase. Your support goes a long way to help us serve the older adults in Unicoi County.
For additional information relative to these events or to inquire about older adult options, please call the senior center at 743-5111 or visit us at 220 Union St. between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
