Senior Center News – Elder abuse to be discussed (June 10, 2015 issue)

Please join us on Thursday, June 11, at 10 a.m. for a presentation by Trish Wilkerson, CHIPS Family Violence Shelter, as she discusses the types of elder abuse as well as the signs and symptoms to watch for. In addition, she will inform you about how you can protect yourself through several preventative measures.
Don’t forget to join us on Friday, June 12, as we have three bands performing at our music benefit beginning at 5 p.m. The cost to attend will be $5 per person to enjoy an evening with the Red Barn Band (5-6 p.m.), Mountain Rose Band (6-7 p.m.) and the Rockingham Band (7-8 p.m.). We hope that you will plan to attend and enjoy the entertainment.
On Monday, June 15, beginning at 9 a.m. we invite you to our craft class with guest instructor, Terry Holiwski, who will demonstrate how to recycle your plastic grocery bags into a beautiful crocheted handbag.
If you have a big heart and a desire to volunteer for a hospice agency, we invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 16, at 9:30 a.m. to learn more about how you can assist hospice patients in your community.
Also, don’t forget that we are gearing up for a 4 day/3 night trip to Lancaster, Pa. The cost is only $379 per person, which includes a charter bus, lodging, a show at the Sight and Sound Millennium Theatre, a guided tour of Lancaster including the Amish Country, and more.
