The Clinchfield Senior Adult Center is excited about November! The center will host two large events during the first week of the month which will showcase the center as a hub of activity for those 50 and older.
The first event is a concert by singer, songwriter, actor and owner of Down Home in Johnson City, Ed Snodderly. Ed will perform his original Appalachian music at the center on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at the senior center. Concessions will be available and door prizes will be awarded throughout the event.
The second event will occur on Thursday, November 3 in conjunction with The Erwin Record and Nu Hearing Center. Living Senior Expo will take place at the Clinchfield Senior Adult Center and consist of vendors, activity demonstrations, and door prizes! The event is free and will last from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Come on out for a morning of fun!
Of course, the center has activities and programs going on all month.
Here are a few that will help you to live the life you desire!
• Share and Support a class about developing relationships that are supportive and mutually beneficial. Also, learn how to handle relationships and other interpersonal exchanges with people who are not always welcoming and friendly. Renee Tipton from Chips will be the speaker for this program on Monday, Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m.
• The senior center will salute its veterans on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. with music, food and a talk by George Hatcher. Lunch is $3 per person and will consist of Salisbury Steak, green beans, whipped potatoes, and banana pudding. A drink in included. MUST register by Wednesday, Nov. 9 at noon.
• Enter your best pumpkin dessert to win prizes in the Best Pumpkin Dessert contest which will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Entries must be received by 10 a.m. Judging will take place at 10:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 11:30 a.m.
