Senior Center News – Billiards event beginning in February (Feb. 4, 2015 issue)

February kicks off with ladies’ pool on Friday, Feb. 6, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Not a member? No problem. You can join for only $20 per year for access to the billiards room, computer lab with internet access and printing options as well as a fitness room, which offers treadmills, steppers, bikes, weights and more.
If playing pool is your love, be advised that you can join us on Friday, Feb. 13, from 4-8 p.m. for a pool fundraiser. Each player (senior center member or non-member) will donate $5 for an evening of pool. We have two billiard tables to be utilized during this fundraiser so we hope that you will come out and enjoy the game and fellowship this evening event will offer.
We would also like to invite you to join us on Tuesday, Feb.10, at 9:30 a.m., as we welcome local author Lou Thornberry. He will discuss his published book, “Remembering Old Erwin.”
Due to such demand, we are continuing to offer free iPad classes. Therefore, please contact the senior center to find out how you can reserve an appointment for a one on one session on Wednesdays. Note that you are not limited to only one appointment, assuming that we are able to meet the demand for training requests.
For additional information relative to these events or to inquire about older adult (50 years and older) options, please call the senior center at 743-5111 or visit us at 220 Union St., between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
