I love to watch cooking shows, especially those that center around competition between two or more cooks. I am amazed at the differences in the end result dishes when trained chefs start with the same concept and the same ingredients. But, maybe I shouldnt be.
Have you ever asked a friend for the recipe to a delicious dessert you just ate? Has it ever tasted as good when you make it? Maybe it is the concept of someone else doing it. Maybe you were hungrier
when you originally tried the friends dish. The thing is we all have our own way unique to us. I enjoy cooking, but I have to use a recipe. Following the directions is usually foolproof. Those other times, I just blame it on the weather or the oven. My grandmother, however, never needed a recipe. In fact, I dont know that anything ever failed or tasted bad.
