Maxine E. Hensley

Maxine E. Hensley, age 85, of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Chandler House Assisted Living in Jefferson City, TN.

A native of Erwin, Maxine is a daughter of the late W.S. Lewis, Jr. and Myrtle (Banner) Lewis. She was of the Baptist faith, and graduated from Johnson Bible College. Maxine was the Executive Director for the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers until her retirement, after 27 years of service.

She enjoyed gardening and had a deep love for animals. She took in many strays and helped take care of many more. In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by her husband: Donnie Ray Hensley; brothers: Lionel Lewis, Kent Lewis and Michael Lewis; triplet grandsons: Alex Bocock, Adam Bocock and Joshua Bocock.

Lillian Bocock.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Maxine E. Hensley in a funeral service to be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 4, 2021, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Pastor Alan Jones will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday and will continue until service time, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral service on Thursday, March 4, 2021. Those attending should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 4, 2021, to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Bocock, Jesse Bocock, Caleb Bocock and Fletcher Kirkland.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we respectfully request that anyone attending services please wear a mask or face covering at all times and observe all social distancing guidelines.
