Youth volleyball, cheerleading camps planned

The Unicoi County Cheerleaders will host their annual summer youth camp from June 22-25 at the UCHS gym. The cost of the camp, which will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each evening, is $50.
Campers will learn cheers, sideline chants, dance routine, tumbling, stunting and crafts.
Campers will also be in a parade and perform their cheers at the first home UCHS Blue Devil football game on Aug. 28.

The Unicoi County High School volleyball team will host a general skills camp from July 20-24. Each day’s activities last from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a $50 registration fee. Payment includes camp tuition, instruction, a camp T-shirt and lunch.
The camp is designed for girls currently in fourth to seventh grade who have a love for volleyball and desire to become better players.
LeAnn Lane will be the guest instructor throughout the event. Lane played volleyball at Montreat College and earned first-team all-state honors in 2000 with Sullivan North High School.
The former Golden Raider is the coach at Church Hill Middle School with nine years of middle school coaching and 10 years with the Kingsport Volleyball Club.
