TWRA to sponsor hunter education class

A Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency endorsed Hunter Education Class will be held at Erwin City Hall Sept. 23-23, with a live firing exercise to be held for those who pass the written exam. The firing exercise will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at Sciota Firing Range in Unicoi.
Everyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, must possess proof of satisfactory completion of an agency approved hunter education course, in addition to all other licenses and permits required. they must also possess proof of successful completion of a hunter education class before hunting in Tennessee.
Those under 10 years of age do not need a Hunter Education certificate, but must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age, w ho must remain in position to take immediate control of the hunting device.
Anyone wishing to participate in the class must be at least nine years old when the class starts and bring their social security number to the class for registration. Class begins at 6 p.m. each night. Instructor is Jerry Hopson. For more information, call 743-8754.
