Fairways will be busy in Northeast Tennessee this year and the Blue Nation is ready to tee off. Competition in the District 1-A/AA golf scene is about to pick up with the start of the regular season beginning this week for Unicoi County High School. With Sullivan South, North Greene and South Greene joining the district this season, the league will see a spark of competitiveness, according to head coach Diana Tucker. It will be interesting, Tucker said. South brings in a state junior amateur
champion (Caymen Ratliff) and are solid on both teams. It will make the league far more competitive, having South and the Greene County schools. With the District 1-A/AA season upon the area, Tucker is optimistic about the teams progress.
