Tankersley has success in Quebec race

In a race of a lifetime, Nolan Tankersley
made the opportunity count.
The Unicoi County High School graduate
arrived back in Erwin last week after
fi nishing 23rd out of 100 racers in the 45th
annual Tour de l'Abitibi Desjardins. The
tour lasted July 15-21 and pitted national
cyclists against one another in the city of
Rouyn-Noranda in Canada. The race was
sanctioned by the Cycling Canada and the
Quebec Cycling Sport’s Federation and is
heralded as the top North American race
for the Junior Men’s category, 17-18 year
olds.
