It took less than three minutes for the Unicoi County High School men’s soccer team to take control of their home game against the Kingsport Area Christian Home Education Association (KACHEA) Wildcats.

“We started off well due to some strong leadership on the field,” Blue Devil head coach Justin Ciralsky told The Erwin Record. “Our captains, Daniel Meza and Martin Porras, reiterated what the coaching staff has been saying in practice and before the games, and the boys took it to heart and applied it.”

UCHS took a 3-0 lead within the first three minutes of the game and cruised to a 6-0 non-conference victory.

“Juan Ponce played well and Armando Saldana played well,” Ciralsky said. “Our goalie, Miguel Vasquez, played well, especially later in the game as he made several great saves to keep a clean sheet.”

Ponce and Saldana both scored 2 goals in the game. Meza and Jacob Carver both scored 1.
