Thanksgiving is just around the bend, which means it is almost time for the sound of shoes squeaking on the hardwood.
Unicoi County High School will tip-off the 2014-2015 basketball campaign on Nov. 6 with the Three Rivers Conference jamboree at Sullivan East High School.
The Erwin Record will present the annual UCHS basketball preview with a look at the UCHS squads and the conference landscape set to run Nov. 19.

You can’t beat taking in a game at the Devils’ Den or Gentry Stadium, but a tip-of-the-cap goes out to the athletic programs and their involvement with Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The Blue Devil football team and cheerleaders will host their “Pink Out” night on Friday, Oct. 24. The UCHS volleyball team had their own event that raised money for the American Cancer Society earlier this year.

While the sports scene seems to never die off in Unicoi County, the Blue Devil band has shown what they can do this year throughout the football season.
Whether they “Turn Down for What” during a game or provide entertainment during pre-game activities and at halftime, the school spirit flows right with the Blue Nation.
The Blue Devils and Lady Devils that participate in those activities deserve their own “tip-of-the-cap” for bringing the fans to their feet.
