Lady Devils to host youth camp

The Unicoi County High School Lady Devil basketball team will host its annual basketball camp for girls ages 5-14 beginning Monday, May 30, at UCHS.
Lady Devil basketball camp is designed to assist players in improving their basketball skills by focusing on the fundamentals of the game. Head coach Josh Epperson, his coaching staff and players believe the week will be beneficial for the campers.
Any girl between the ages of 5-14 is eligible to attend the camp. Campers will be divided into groups according to age, size and ability.
Campers are urged to pre-register. Registration will also be held Monday, May 30, from 8 to 9 a.m. at the high school. Checks should be made payable to Lady Devil Basketball Camp.
The camp will begin on Monday, May 30, and will continue through Friday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. All campers should report to the UCHS gym at the start of camp each day. Daily sessions will consist of fundamental teaching stations, five-on-five games and daily free-throw and Hot Shot competitions. Special features of the camp include 8-foot and 9-foot goals for younger players, trophies for all age groups and a dunking photo shoot.
The camp fee is $50 per camper. This includes a camp T-shirt and a drink at break. Campers may bring a lunch or purchase items from the concession stand. Pizza will be available for $1 per slice. The staff will include current and former Lady Devil basketball players. They will be under the direction of Coach Epperson.
