While weather postponed some softball action in Northeast Tennessee last week, but the ladies of Erwin would not be phased.
The Unicoi County High School softball team (4-0, TRC 2-0) opened up the week in a big way with a 29-0 rout over Sullivan North on Tuesday, March 19, at Lady Devil Diamond in Erwin. The game was previously scheduled to be played in Kingsport, but rainy weather moved the location to Erwin.
The final game on the docket last week was a non-conference affair in Kingsport against Dobyns-Bennett on Wednesday, March 21.
DBHS would take an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning, but the Lady Devils would put on a three-run fifth inning to pull away with the 3-2 win.
Games against Chuckey-Doak and Happy Valley were scheduled for last week, but were moved to later dates due to inclement weather.
In the game Sullivan North, the Lady Devils would not fail to flex their muscle to record their second straight Three Rivers Conference win of the year at Lady Devil Diamond. UCHS jumped all over the Lady Golden Raiders early and would take an early 22-0 lead that saw the underclassmen take part in the win.
