The Unicoi County High School girls soccer team gave its senior members a memorable senior night last week.
Playing West Greene at home in Erwin on Thursday, Sept. 13, the Lady Devils (2-8) scored two goals in the second half on their way to a 3-2 victory.
“It was our senior night, and it was amazing just because our student body pulled together to cheer the girls on,” head coach Bettina Chirica said. “It felt like we were all one family, which really represented the #1bluenation. The atmosphere of support was really felt. It helped inspire our girls to play hard.”
Juana Ponce, Spencer Garant and Valeria Ponce each scored a goal in the victory.
The Lady Devils opened last week with a 4-0 loss to Sullivan Central on Sept. 11.
