Hospital to hold game to benefit Relay For Life

Unicoi County Memorial Hospital will once again hold its softball game to benefit the Relay For Life of Unicoi County. The game will be held on Saturday, May 28, at 5 p.m. at the Unicoi County Lady Devil Diamond, located just across from the hospital.
“We are very excited about the upcoming softball game,” said Relay team captain Chris Peterson. “Our employees have worked very hard coordinating the game, and ultimately we hope to raise a lot of money for the American Cancer Society, while having a great time.”
The two teams will consist of hospital employees and their family members. The community is invited to attend the game to cheer on their team, whether it be the blue or the gray team.
Donations will be accepted at the gate for entry, and concessions will be available. Items such as hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, candy and drinks will benefit the Relay For Life.
“We really hope that people from the community come out and enjoy a good time for a good cause,” added Peterson.
