The East Tennessee State University football team made an appearance at Gentry Stadium on Thursday, April 2, for an inter-squad scrimmage as part of the teams regional outreach tour for schools in northeast Tennessee. We want to thank the people of Erwin and Unicoi County for being kind enough to host us for this scrimmage, ETSU head coach Carl Torbush said in a statement released from the university. ETSU visited Dobyns-Bennett and Tennessee High prior to their trip to Erwin and are scheduled to play at Kermit-Tipton Stadium on April 11. The Unicoi County High School Blue Devil football coaching staff, players and Gridiron Club members assisted during the event with field preparation. The Blue Devils are scheduled to play their own spring football scrimmages on May 8 at Sullivan Central and May 14 at Cloudland High School.
