Devils fall to Greeneville
The Unicoi County Middle School Jr. Blue Devil basketball teams continued their seasons last week with a league game against Greeneville Middle School on Thursday, Nov. 20.
With a bevy of new players entering the forte, the Jr. Greene Devils were able to score a 64-35 win at home against UCMS in varsity action.
With a new-look roster, the Jr. Blue Devils are currently at 2-5 on the year, head coach Ken Hilliard said.
Eighth grader Brett Strother leads the varsity team with the experience from last years squad. He is joined by Brett Lingerfelt, Austin ODell and Ty Thelen. Ikey Edwards and Drew Keasling and Roby Lemmon added a presence down low.
While playing hard, the team has had a hard time with scoring, Hilliard added.
The teams returned to action this week against Church Hill on Monday, Nov. 24, after The Erwin Records press deadline.
