Blue Devils selected to play in FCA bowl

The high school football season will go on for the seniors who were recently selected from Tennessee and Virginia to participate in the third annual FCA Senior Bowl. Once again, the game will be a contest between Northeast Tennessee players and Southwest Virginia players.
Two Unicoi County High School seniors, Hunter Abbott and Zach Beard, will represent the program during the gridiron event.
Tennessee has had Virginia’s number in the past two meetings with blowout victories.
The FCA bowl will change locations this year after being played at Kermit-Tipton Stadium in Johnson City for the past two meetings. With the current agreement in place, this year’s game will be moved to a Virginia venue and will be played at Malcolm Stadium in Bristol, Va., on Saturday, Dec. 15, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
For people unable to attend the game, WJHL will have a live stream online that can be viewed at www.wjhl.com. The game will also be on News Channel 11 later during the evening.
