Willis Parks Bowman

Willis Parks Bowman, age 76, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Saturday, April 28, 2012. He was born in Erwin to the late Richard Rowe Bowman and Loris Clouse Bowman.
He attended Unicoi County High School and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Bowman worked on the construction of Cougar and Green Peter Dams in Oregon. He supervised various highway construction projects throughout the U.S. and in Panama.
He also worked at Cape Kennedy during construction of the Saturn V Rocket for the Apollo Space Program.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Bowman; children: Connie Wilson and husband Randall and Douglas Bowman; siblings: Wayne Bowman and wife Geri and Renee Bowman; grandchildren and other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 19, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Shallow Ford Baptist Church. A service will follow with the Rev. James Lynch officiating. Interment will follow in the Tinker Cemetery on Mill creed Road.
