Willie Mae Haun Honeycutt

Willie Mae Haun Honeycutt, age 93, of the Rock Creek community in Erwin, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at her home. Born on Aug. 5, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Peter Lafayette and Effie Mae McInturff Haun of Erwin.
She was a charter member, and the oldest member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church. She worked for many years at the former Industrial Garment.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Honeycutt; a daughter, Ruth Bennett; five brothers, Ralph, Gus, Paul, Brownlow and Harry Haun; and two sisters, Estella Honeycutt and Burleigh Barbow.
Survivors include a daughter: Sue and Gerald Davis of Johnson City; son: Ron and Debbie Honeycutt of Gray; brother: Jack Haun of Asheville, N.C.; sister: Mae Honeycutt of Bluff City; grandchildren: Wade Honeycutt, Rhonda Honeycutt Robertson, Linda Honeycutt (Steve) Gordon, Jim (Kellie) Daivs, Brian (Tammy) Davis and Mark Bennett; great-grandchildren: Doug and Taylor Honeycutt, Braydon and D. J. Robertson, Keith and Emily Mae Gordon, Zak Davis, and Luke Davis; sisters- in-law: Evelyn Peake and Helen Honeycutt; special nieces: Shirley Diederich and Betty Jo Johnson and their children.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. Joan Gandy officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until service time at Valley Funeral Home.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 a.m.
