William George Cooper, Jr., age 83, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the Center on Aging and Health. He was a native of Worcester, MA and a son of the late William George Cooper, Sr. and Jennie Belle Nicklen Cooper. Mr. Cooper graduated Clark University with a Bachelors Degree. He worked for the United Sates Government in the Defense Intelligence Agency. William served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Cooper was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Erwin, TN. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Cooper in 2012 and a sister, Lorraine Burnett.

A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family of William George Cooper, Jr. will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until service time on Sunday, March 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. A committal service will follow in Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
