Willa Bennett Shelton

Willa Bennett Shelton, age 78, Erwin, went home to be with the Lord at 11:24 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lockie Lingerfelt Bennett. Mrs. Shelton was a former employee of Superior Home, the Fo od Shoppe, and was a retired inspector at Hoover Precision Products. She was a faithful member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted momma and meme.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, T. J. Bennett and one sister, Madge Bailey.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by two daughters, Karen Robinson and husband, Maurice, Erwin, Kim Culbertson and husband, Joel, Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Stacy Robinson and wife, Lori, Matthew McNally, Kristy Lewis and husband, Richard, Kelly Carver and husband, Alex; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey Lewis, Kassidy Carver, Isaac Lewis, Mallory McNally, Levi Carver and Kinley Carver; one brother, James E. “Baldy” Bennett and wife, Beverly, Erwin; one sister, Artie Lea Whaley, Erwin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service for Mrs. Shelton will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 27, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew McNally, Stacy Robinson, Jerry Bennett, Patrick Bennett, Scott Bradford, Clyde Griffith, Stanley Edwards and Richard Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Southside Freewill Baptist Church .
The family would like to express a special thank you and their gratitude to the staff of Center on Aging and Health, especially Mary Jane, Margaret and Nikki.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
