Walter Mychaskiw, 84, Erwin, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Erwin Health Care Center. He was a native of Poland, worked as a tool and dye maker, and had lived in Erwin for several years.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Magdalena Somyk Mychaskiw and wife, Madlyn Huskins Mychaskiw in 2006.
Survivors include daughters: Linda Eberhard of Lewiston, Maine, Darlene Ridenour of Rutherfordton, N.C.; son: Ronald Mychaskiw; brother: Edward W. Mychaskiw of Naugatuck, Conn.; sister: Stella Mychaskiw Jasinski of Naugatuck, Conn. and several nieces and nephews.
The entombment service was held Monday, May 2, at 11 a.m., in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. Bishop John Edwards officiated.
Valley Funeral Home was in charge.
