V. Louise Anders, age 85, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late James M. and Abbie Whitson Gouge. Louise began her career at the age of 17 with the Blue Ridge Pottery Company as a dish painter. She also worked for the former Savings Center and later retired from Texas Instruments. She was a faithful, life long member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church. She was also a member of Clinchfield Pottery Club. She was an inspiration and Christian witness too many through her artistry of painting rocks and making bookmarks. In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Carson Anders, brothers: James Owen Gouge and wife, Paula and Norman Lee Gouge and wife, Hilda McCurry Gouge.

The family requests the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of V. Louise Anders in a funeral service at 8:00 PM, Friday, May, 16, 2014, at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church, 910 Hoback St., Erwin. Reverend Noah Taylor and Reverend Bryon Poddock will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Mary Bennett and by Suzanne Anders. Musical selections will be provided by Sheila Benedetto and by Mike Peterson. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00PM and continue until service time on Friday at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church. A committal service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to attend will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:30AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Anders, Rick Anders, Luke Anders, Jesse Tilson, Drew Anders and Steve Tate. Honorary pallbearers will be Terrell Anders, Scott Fowler, Bob Strickland and James Necessary. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Program, P.O Box 398, Erwin, TN 37650.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to many family members and friends that provided transportation to her dialysis treatments and also to Divitytis Dialysis and staff for their care.
