Thomas H. “Tom” Wilson

Thomas H. “Tom” Wilson, age 61, 1049 Carolina Avenue, Erwin, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and son of Hoover Wilson of Erwin and the late Hazel Pauline Johnson Wilson who passed away in 2005. Mr. Wilson retired from Levi Strauss Company after 27 years of service and later went to work for Wal-Mart in Unicoi and worked there until his health forced him to retire. He was raised in the Church of Christ but attended the Pilgrim Church in later years. Tom loved to work in his flowers.

Other than his father, Tom leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Stacey Wingate Wilson; a son, Jacob Allan Wilson, of the home; two sisters: Dorothy Prater and husband, Roy, Madisonville; Linda Adkins and husband, Ken, Erwin; father-in-law, John Wingate of LaGrange, GA; one nephew, Daniel Lee Coggins; three nieces: Michelle Lynn Lorence, Dinah Annette Dziolek and husband, David, and Rachel Lee Paige; great nieces and nephews, Isaiah John Dziolek, Illiana Joy Dziolek, Brandon Lee Paige, Kaylan Nicole Paige and Micheal Jeremiah Paige.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. Sunday, September 27, 2015 from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home of his father, Hoover Wilson, 501 Polly Erwin Road, Erwin. Reverend Danny Hughes will officiate at the 7:00 P. M. funeral service. Special music will be provided by Tim Lewis and Inez Chandler. Active pallbearers will be Roy Lee Prater, Kenneth David Adkins, Daniel Lee Coggins, Tim Higgins, Phil Erwin and Jeff Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Carter Stockton and Junior Kegley.

The committal service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, September 28, 2015, in Roselawn Memory Gardens, Johnson City. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 A. M. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
