THERON ELBERT EDWARDS

Theron Elbert Edwards, age 79, of 152 Eli Masters Road, Jonesborough, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Edwards is a native of Burnsville, N.C., and a son of the late Noah and Minnie Jane Edwards. He was the grandson of the late Pete and Arphene Edwards.
He was a farmer. He had lots of friends and will be missed by many. He was a very unselfish person. If he gave something away, he gave the best he had.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Doris Edwards of Jonesborough; sisters-in-law, Mary Stissel of Erwin, Daisy Higgins and husband, James, of Burnsville, and Esther Williams and husband, Kenneth, of Burnsville;
brothers-in-law, Lester Cannon and wife, Francie, of Jonesborough, and Ted Cannon of Burnsville; many nieces, nephews and first cousins.
The family will attend private graveside services.
