TERRY LYNN WHITE

Terry Lynn White, age 54, of 101 Unaka Court, Erwin, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. White was a native of Unicoi County and a son of Lora Dean Smith White and the late Robert L. White Jr.
He began a career in emergency response, as a member of the former Erwin Rescue Squad, 33 years ago, and followed with his involvement in the Unicoi County Ambulance Service, then with Quality Care. Mr. White had worked as a paramedic with the Washington County/Johnson City EMS since 1997.
He was a Mason and a member of Erwin Centennial Lodge #491. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Other than his father, Mr. White was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Freeman Holcombe and father-in-law, John Kenney.
Survivors include his wife: Abby Kenney White, of Erwin; mother: Lora Dean Smith White, of Erwin; brother: Richard White, of Erwin; mother-in-law: Kathleen Kenney, of Erwin; nephews: Jason Holcombe, of Erwin, Johnathan Kenney, of Erwin, David Vaughan, of Vinton, Va., Brian Vaughan, of Palmyra, Va.; nieces: Jill Chamblee, of Hampstead, N.C., Elizabeth “Beth” Bowman of Elizabethton, Brittany Kenney, of Erwin; several great nephews and great nieces; brother-in-law: John Kenney and his wife Shawn, of Erwin; sisters-in-law: Tammy Tipton and her husband Tim, of Erwin, Sheila Vaughan and her husband Frank, of Colonial Heights, Va.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Bishop Matthew Barber, EMS Chaplain, the Rev.Robert Grimes, the Rev.Bernie Jones, and the Rev. Earl Ragland officiated. Musical selections were provided by Jason Holcombe, Larry Pate and Kim McCann.
A committal service followed in Evergreen Cemetery with EMS honors provided by Washington County EMS and an honorary fly over provided by “Wings.”
Active pallbearers were Roger White and employees of Washington County/Johnson City EMS. Honorary pallbearers were the Erwin Rescue Squad.
