TERRY BRADFORD

Terry Bradford, 59, 149 Bradford Lane, Erwin, died, Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Bradford was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Andy Roscoe and Pearl Hensley Bradford.
He was a long time member of Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and taught the men’s Sunday school class. Mr. Bradford also proudly taught within the Unicoi County School System for 32 years.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge 461 F&AM. In addition, he served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nolan Shaun Bradford, in 1992 and a brother Doug Bradford, in 2009.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 33 years, Debbie Davis Bradford; two brothers: Scott Bradford and wife, Wilma, Erwin and Duane Bradford and wife, Tracy, Jonesborough; two sisters: Lois Ann Bradford, Erwin and Edna Muriel Portilia and husband, Dennis, Belleair. Fla.; a very special great nephew, Bodhi Bradford; father and mother-in-law, Ted and Barbara Davis, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8, from the Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church.
Interment followed in the Bradford Cemetery. The Rev. Tommy Hensley and the Rev. Kevin Laws officiated. Special music was provided by David Higgins and daughter, Damaris. Active pallbearers were Charlie Baxter, Richard Bo Shadden, Rusty Edwards, Dennis Clarke, Dustin Higgins, Lauren McNutt, and Bodhi Bradford. The deacons of Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
