Susan Dover 05 25 2016Susan Diane Dover, 53, of Erwin, passed on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Unicoi County and the daughter of Sandra Sue Laws of Erwin and Paul Marshall Foster and wife, Brenda of Erwin. Mrs. Dover was a dedicated employee of Kohl’s and had previously worked for Morrill Motors.

Diane was a big supporter of Unicoi County sports programs including the UCHS Gridiron Club, UCHS Volleyball, UCHS Baseball and UCHS Softball. She was formerly the program director for the YMCA. Her passion was to do whatever it took to take care of her children. Diane grew up in Ninth Street Baptist Church and was a member of Central Baptist Church of Erwin. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and memaw.

In addition to her parents, Susan Diane Dover has left behind to cherish her memory: Husband of 5 years, Robert Leon Dover of Erwin; Daughter: Bethany Gibson and boyfriend, Issac Harris of Erwin; Sons: Robert Gibson and wife, Jenna of Piney Flats, Scott Gibson of San Antonio, TX; Brother: Robert Foster and wife, Vicky of Piney Flats; Sister: April Edwards of Johnson City; Step-children: Leon Dover of Erwin, Becca Dover of Johnson City; Grandchildren: Kinley Gibson and Kate Gibson; Nephew: Tyler Foster of Piney Flats.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Susan Diane Dover in a funeral service to be at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 23, 2016 at Ninth Street Baptist Church, 310 9th Street, Erwin, TN 37650 with Reverend Larry Wiley and Reverend Loyd Jones officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Laraine Dover. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the service time at Ninth Street Baptist Church. Committal services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Pallbearers will be notified. Donations can also be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or to Niswonger Children’s Hospital c/o Mountain States Foundation, 2335 Knob Creek Road, Suite 101, Johnson City, TN 37604 Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at www.valleyfuneralhome.net.
