Stanley Norman Donnelly, 78, Elk Point, S.D., died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, in Erwin. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to the late Ralph Henry and Ione (Fowler) Donnelly. Mr. Donnelly graduated in 1952 from Elk Point High School. After high school graduation, he attended South Dakota State University
at Brookings, S.D. Mr. Donnelly later enlisted the U.S. Army and served his country proudly during
the Korean Conflict.
He married Delores (Budde) at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson, S.D., April 4, 1964. He remained a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church since his marriage. Mr. Donnelly was a lifelong farmer in Elk Point. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Delores (Budde) Donnelly; two daughters: Teresa (Traci) Donnelly-Jarvis and husband, Randy, of Jefferson, S.D., Stana M. Donnelly and husband, Mitchell Manuel, Erwin; close friends: Don and Kate Frankl, Jefferson, S.D., Kirk and Carol Laferriere, Sioux City, Iowa, Frank and Wanda Minor, Elk Point, S.D..
Mass was at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27, in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Father Thomas Charter will officiate.Mass will be offered at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson, S.D. Father David Roehrich will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery.
