Sharlotte Jones Rynders, age unspecified as she requested,
(“after all, a gentleman never asks a lady her age”) died after a short illness while on a visit to her beloved Mexico. She was a native of Erwin but lived several places including Miami and New York City during her career as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Claude and Pearl Jones of Erwin, brother, Lewis “Pinky” Jones and her husband, Gordon Rynders of Brooklyn, New York. She is survived by her niece, Cindy Jones of San Diego, nephew, Tom Jones, of Fairfax, Virginia and three grandnephews.
She was a lifelong member of the Centenary Methodist church of Erwin. She lived a life made richer by a wide circle of friends and family. She enjoyed travel and spending time at her second home in Manzanillo, Mexico.
A memorial service will be held at a future date yet to be determined.
