Sarah “Aunt Sue” Lewis Yelton

Sarah “Aunt Sue” Lewis Yelton, age 93, entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, and is now awaiting the resurrection into the eternal Kingdom of God (I Thes. 4:16) “For the Lord himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” Those gone before her are her husband, Floyd Yelton; her parents, Sherman and Hannah Bennett Lewis; eight brothers, Stokes, Leeland, Forest, Jess, Bill, Vernon, M. V. and Taff Lewis; three sisters, Madge Hoilman, Nancy Barnett and Julia Gouge.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a sister Mary Jersey and husband, Wayne, of Asheville, NC and a host of nieces and nephews as well as her church family and many friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 12, 2014, from 10:30 A. M. to 12:30 P. M. at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel, Unicoi. Graveside service will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery, Limestone Cove Community, Unicoi. Joy Robinson will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 P M., Friday, December 12, 2014, at the New Desting Ministry Center, 459 Old Beasonwell Road, Kingsport, TN 37660, with her church family, friends and relatives gathering to share memories and celebrate her life. Pastor Jerrod Manning will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Desting Ministry Center at the above address.
