Samuel J. Peake, 65, 105 Timber Ridge Road, Erwin, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 following a lengthy illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Samuel C. and Vernia Howell Peake. He retired from Hoover Ball with over 30 years service as a tool and die maker. Mr. Peake honorably served his country as a Navy veteran of the Vietnam era.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Clyde Peake and a sister Marie Shelton.
Mr. Peake is survived by: his loving daughter, Sabrina Peake, Erwin; one grandson, Brady Sutton, Erwin; three brothers, James Peake and wife Veda, Telford, Charles Peake and wife Phyllis, and Billy Peake and wife Debbie all of Erwin; one sister, Tinia Musselman; Twelve Mile, Ind.; one sister-in-law, Janice Peake, Erwin and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Samuel J. Peake will be held Tuesday, March, 22, at 7 p.m. from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until service time.
The Rev. Talmadge Brown will officiate. Pallbearers will be Doc Shelton, Alan Hopkins, Stacy Peake, Zachary Peake, Brady Sutton and Travis Peake.
The committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery. Military honors will be conveyed by the VFW Post # 4933 and the Tennessee Army National Guard.
