Ruth Marie “Eonie” Masters, age 83, of Erwin, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, in the UCMH Long Term Care Unit. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late E. Guy and Maud Williams Robbins.
She was a member of the First Christian Church. Ms. Masters was active in the Republican Party of Unicoi County and the Women’s Club. She was also active in the Garden Club while they lived in Umatilla, Fla., during the winter months.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children: Russell O. Moore and her second husband: Charles D. Masters.
Survivors include a son: Russell Moore of Erwin; daughter: Mary Gay Engle and husband Kim, of Clinton, Tenn.; two grandchildren: Jonathan L. Engle and M. Alexandra Engle, both of Oak Ridge; sister: Carolyn Fowler; nieces: Julie Kacerguis, Janice Frohman, Jane Harmon; nephew: Jack Fowler.
A graveside service for Ms. Masters will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. William Anderson will officiate.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 23, at the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home.
