Ruth Lee Haynes, age 90, 315 Walnut Street, Erwin, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Center on Aging & Health in Erwin. She had lived in Unicoi County most of her life and was a daughter of the late Jack and Sennie Ramsey Franklin. Mrs. Haynes retired in 1990 after working as a seamstress for tw enty-five years at Industrial Garment and Red Cap. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Floyd Haynes; a daughter, Geneva Rutter; one brother, Charles Odell “Bill” Franklin; two sisters, Lennie English and Nola Mae Ashdown.
Mrs. Haynes leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Robert “Tex” Haynes and wife, Carolyn and Dorsie Jack Haynes and wife, Georgia, all of Erwin; one daughter, Lorraine Ollis of Jonesborough; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M., Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bill Ponder will officiate at the 8:00 P. M. service. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Committal service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday in the Edwards Branch Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 A. M. to go in procession to the cemetery.
