Ruby Mae Poore Frazier, age 84, of Erwin, TN passed away peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Center on Aging and Health. Born March 1, 1930 in Erwin, TN she was the daughter of the late Charles Poore and Rossie Chapman Poore.
Ruby was baptized into the Baptist faith and expressed her love of the Lord by her love of family and by living a quiet humble life. Ruby enjoyed shopping, cooking, gardening and providing a wonderful home for her family. Ruby thought her greatest legacy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She lit up a room with her smile and laughter and she made the best gravy and biscuits anyone could ever imagine. Ruby was a kind, gentle soul who valued each person she met. She was loved by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Willliam Frazier; a daughter, Linda Mae Story; a son-in-law, Richard D. Harris; sister, Pauline Treadway; brothers, Wade Poore and Steve Poore and infant brother and sister, Raymond Poore and Dorthy Poore. Survivors include her children, Shirley Jane Frazier Harris, Raymond Frazier and wife Lisa, Betty Sue Frazier Robinson and husband Dean, Helen Ann Frazier Hopson and husband Tony and Tim Frazier and wife Darlene; a son-in-law, Johnny Story; fourteen grandchildren, Richard Ricky Harris and wife April, Kenny Harris and wife Linda, Sammy Harris and wife Carol, Jenny Morrow and husband Freddy, Delilah Greer and husband Alex, Caleb Frazier and wife Margaret, Janice Brotherton and husband Bucky, Larry Robinson and wife Brandy, Jeremiah Hopson and wife Samantha, Kris Hopson and wife Becky, Tony Hopson Jr. and wife Melissa, Carrie Jo Gross and husband Cory, Dylan Frazier and Natalie Frazier and five siblings, Pete Poore, Doug Poore, Wanda Poore, Stallard Poore and Joyce Masters. Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Ruby Mae Poore Frazier will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 12, 2014 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Caleb Frazier and Mr. Tony Hopson Jr., minister officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 8:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Raymond Frazier, Tim Frazier, Sammy Harris, Larry Robinson, Dylan Frazier. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Poore, J. W. Poore and Salard Poore. Those attending the graveside service will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
