Roma Dover Street, age 69, of Erwin, formerly of Spruce Pine, N.C., died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Born on Aug. 25, 1943, in Mitchell County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Paul Buster and Nadge Pitman Dover. Mrs. Street was a graduate of Harris High School. She retired from Mayland Printing Company in Spruce Pine with 40 years of service. After retirement from Mayland Printing Company, she worked from 2003-2010 at Young’s Printing in Milligan.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and Christian. Her home church was the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Spruce Pine, N.C., where she was the pianist for many years. She was currently a member of the Unicoi Baptist Church in Unicoi.
Survivors include her husband of 11 years; Jimmy Street; daughter: Tracey D. Sparks of Weaverville, N.C.; stepson: Jason L. Street of Erwin; brother: Charles Dover and wife, Doris, of Spruce Pine, N.C.; nephews: Paul Dover and Tee Dover, both of Spruce Pine; and faithful and loving companion: “Digger.”
The funeral service was conducted on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m., at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, with the Rev’s. Scott Taylor, Nathan Silver, Homer Murdock Jr., and Harold Grindstaff officiating.
Graveside services and interment were at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 16, in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Unicoi County Humane Society, 185 North Industrial Drive, Erwin, TN 37650 or American Cancer Society.
