Roger Honeycutt, 66, Marbleton community, Unicoi, died Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Yancey County, N.C. and a son of the late Rev. Joe and Ruth Mitchell Honeycutt.
He retired as a supervisor from Tex-Tenn. in 2005, after 15 years of service. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers: Clifton, Fred, Carson,and Herbert Honeycutt; and two sisters: Clara Bryant, and an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Honeycutt of Unicoi; brothers: Howard Honeycutt of Unicoi, Lloyd Honeycutt and wife Judy of Unicoi, Don Honeycutt and wife Sheila of Erwin; sister: Grace Pate of Unicoi; brothers-in-law: Roger Gaddy and wife Sherry of Erwin, David Gaddy and wife Debbie of Caledonia, Miss., Ralph Gaddy of Spartanburg, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Johnson City. The Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Savannah Williams.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Gaddy, David Gaddy, Bruce Randolph, C. J. Bryant, Kenneth Honeycutt, and Jerry King.
