Roderick Lynn Meyer

Roderick Lynn Meyer died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012. He was born at Keesler Airforce Base in Biloxi, MS in 1953. He was a devoted member of Martindale Baptist Church in Johnson City. He was a
faithful servant and choir member. He loved to praise the Lord with his favorite hymns, “How Great Thou Art” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.” He was employed at Fun Expedition in Johnson City. He graduated from Central High School in Blountville in 1973. He was proud to be accepted by East Tennessee State University for the next semester and was in his senior year of school in political science. He received numerous awards for outstanding performance by the Victory Center.
Mr. Meyer is survived by his parents, Fred and Betty Meyer; one sister: Mary Meyer, all of Kingsport; uncles: Paul Griffith and wife Jean, of Erwin, Fred Griffith and wife Gerri, of Newtown,
Conn., Bill Meyer and wife Sally, of Owington, Ky.; aunt: Sandy Heritage and husband John, of Richardson, Texas; cousins: Jane Kelly and husband David, of Deltona, Fla., Becky and Susie Heritage, Shawn, Tyler, David and Eddie Meyer and numerous special cousins.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m., in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services followed with the Rev. Delbert Storie officiating. Graveside services were Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m., at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers and music were provided by Martindale
Baptist Church.
