Rebecca Jean Peake

Rebecca Jean “Becky” Peake, age 80, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Johnson City  Medical Center  surrounded by her loving family.  A native of Erwin, Becky is the daughter of the late Donald Howard and Virginia Lee (Roberts) Jones.  She is a member of Central Baptist Church, and formerly a member of Hulen Baptist Church.  She had a strong faith in God, was an avid supporter of Missions, most recently being the Shoebox Project, and, over the years, taught Sunday School.  Becky graduated from Unicoi County High School, worked for Unicoi County Memorial Hospital as a Nursing Assistant, then as a Dental   Assistant for Dr. W.R. McGowan.  She was also a bookkeeper for Free Service Tire and Garland Tire Company. In later years, she began working as an      Estate Liquidation and Appraisal agent for many  clients throughout the region.
Becky had many interests through the years.   Spending time with her family was most important – She especially loved spending summers with her  husband and family, camping and fishing at Douglas Lake. She loved collecting and selling antiques, she had a great interest in Blue Ridge and Cash Pottery, loved collecting tiny trinket boxes, and loved going to garage sales with her husband Bill!
In addition to her parents, Becky is preceded in death by her brother, James Freddie Jones and wife Dorris; her sister, Lily Ann Lingerfelt and husband Ivan; brother in law, James Bogart, niece Mandy Jones, and nephew David Bogart.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Billy Grant Peake; Son, Bradley Scott Peake (Lori); Sister, June Marie (Patty) Bogart; Grandchildren: Josh Peake, Jared Peake (Casie), Candace Johnson (Kermit),   Miranda Carmona. 13 great grandchildren, several    nieces and nephews, a special cousin, Robert McNabb.
The family expresses its heartfelt thanks to all the kind and committed nurses and doctors at JCMC that were involved in her care.
At her request, Becky will be cremated and a  celebration of her life will be conducted at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Becky’s honor to Central   Baptist Church Mission Fund 801 Ohio Avenue, Erwin, TN 37650.
