Ralph Lovette, 76, Erwin, died at his residence Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.
Mr. Lovette was born in Erwin, the son of the late Owen and Pearl Lovette.
He retired from GM Motors in Flint, Mich., and Hoover Ball of Erwin. He was a former Unicoi County commissioner and served two terms on the Unicoi County Board of Education.
Mr. Lovette was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended Sunday School at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church so he could be with his back-row buddies.
Survivors include brothers, Jack Lovette, Pearland, Texas, and Earnest Lovette of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Kathy Lovette Peterson of North Carolina; son, Daniel Lovette of Maryland; four grandchildren, Macie Peterson, Kassie Peterson, Kaitlyn Lovette and Aidan Lovette.
A memorial service was held at Calvary Baptist Church Sunday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m.
Cremation Society of Northeast Tennessee, Elizabethton, was in charge.
