Polly Bradshaw Tucker Jones passed away on February 16, 2013 after a brief illness at the age of 84. Polly was born on September 20, 1928 to Roy and Pansy Bradshaw Tucker in Erwin, Tennessee. Polly is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray Jones; her cousin, Marie Rentz of Maryland; her nephew, Ray Wells of Pawleys Island, SC; her niece, Anne Wells of Hilton Head, SC; her great nephew, Raymond Wells and great niece, Crayton Wells. Polly graduated from Duke University in 1950 with a major in English and Education. She graduated from Peabody College in 1951 with a masters degree in Library Science. Polly was a member of Alpha Chi Omega and active with the Atlanta Alumni group. Polly worked for the Atlanta Public Library for 20 years, and retired from the Atlanta Library system. She also worked for the Agnes Scott Library, Cobb County Library, and the Dunwoody Library. Polly was a master gardener and enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and her cat. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 19th at 2 oclock at Pattersons Oglethorpe Hill Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association or your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
