Phala Edwards, age 65, Erwin passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Lancaster, PA but had lived most of her life in Erwin. Mrs. Edwards was a daughter of the late Robert and Hydrieth Perkins Miller. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Edwards worked in the food industry for several years.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories two daughters: Ramona Lockwood and husband, William Harold Ingram of Erwin; Hydrieth Cravens and husband, Steve of NC; three sisters: Jean M. Laws and husband, Ronald of Erwin; Yvonne C. Franklin and husband, Pete of Erwin; Judy DeDominces and husband, Larry of Mt. Morris, MI; four grandchildren: Amber Edwards, Nathaniel Effler, Tiffany Foushee and Timothy Chapman; one great granddaughter, Averi Raine Silvers. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Interment was held at 11:00 A. M. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from the Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Kevin Laws officiated. In lieu of flowers memorial's may be made in memory of Phala to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PL., Memphis, TN 38105.
