Peggy O. Cox

Peggy O. Cox, passed away peacefully on June 14th, 2021. She was born in Erwin, Tennessee, on May 1, 1935, to Bascom and Lela Tipton. Peggy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Ralph. She lived and traveled with her husband during his 30-year military career.

While Ralph was stationed at Patrick Air Force Base, Peggy became a cosmetologist. She was an active member of the NCO Wives Club and held various positions in the Club. Ralph was assigned attaché duty with the US Embassy in Venezuela. While living in Caracas, Venezuela, Peggy was influential in building a school for a local orphanage.

After her husband retired from the Air Force, he was employed by several companies in Saudi Arabia. Peggy was continually active in the American’s Wives Club and served as its president. When she returned to the states, she was an active member of the Satellite Beach Women’s Club, NCO Wives Club and she was a member of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile.

Peggy was preceded in death by her brother Mose Tipton, and sisters: Susie Byrd Jones and Billie McCurry.  She is survived by sisters, Ellen McCurry, Lzona Jennings and Betty Peterson.  Peggy is survived by son, Dr. Michael Cox and wife, Sheree and daughter Debra and husband Serge Fourcand. She also leaves grandson Sean Fourcand and wife Michelle and daughter Emma Fourcand. Peggy is survived by granddaughter Ashely Sharp and husband Ray and son Augustus Agnew and Aria Sharp. Peggy was a dearly loved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Indian Harbour Beach, FL. on July 3rd at 11:00 am.
