Paul Adolphe Colin

Paul Adolphe Colin died Friday, March 23, 2012, in Erwin. He was born May 2, 1915, in New Orleans, LA., to the late Wilfred Colin Sr. and Marie Massel Colin.
Mr. Colin was a longtime member of St. Philomena Parish in Chicago, the Painter’s Union Local # 147, a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He had recently moved to Erwin to be closer to his daughter following the sudden death in September 2011 of his son, Ronald, with whom he had made his home for 9 years.
He described his time here in Erwin as some of the happiest days of his life. His family is indebted to all those who he came in contact with that showed him affection and respect. He will be missed by many.
Other than his son and parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, the late Helen Delpit Colin; grandchildren: David and Jennifer Colin; godson, Paul (Lucille) Romant Sr.; brothers, Wilfred (Mayo) Colin Jr., Henry (Lola) Colin, and Albert (June) Colin; sisters: Carmen (Wilton Sr.) Davis, Jeanne (Herbert) Rodriguez, and Mildred (Elmo) Lacoste.
Survivors include children: Veronica LeClaire, Erwin, and Henri Colin; grandchildren: Stephanie (J. Fallon) Parker; Gabrielle Loomis, Aaron (Alexandra) Colin, Sarah Winek, Geoffrey Colin, Tamara (Christopher) Holden, Sean and Brian Colin; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and close friends, Karen and Michael Kessler, Charmaine Peska, and Faith Urick, of Erwin.
Private services will be held at a later date. Donations are requested to be made to your favorite charity in his name.
Robert Ledford Funeral Home and Chapel is in charge.
